Stefanie Upchurch is a senior at Christopher Newport University, studying biochemistry.  As a little girl, she knew that she wanted to be involved in human health.  At first, she wanted to be a children's doctor.  After being introduced to science in elementary school, Stefanie decided that she wanted to be a scientist instead.  In high school, she fell in love with the fields of biology and chemistry and in college, she decided to do the best of both!  As a senior in college, she is hoping to be involved in the pharmaceutical industry after graduation.  

 

In her free time, Stefanie enjoys cooking, playing guitar and spending time at the beach.  She lives with her family and two cats, Suzi and Misty.
